Men's Tennis Signs Polish Standout

Spokane, Wash. - Tomasz Falkowski has signed a national letter of intent to join the Gonzaga University men's tennis team, as announced by head coach Peter MacDonald, Friday. Falkowski will join the Zags in the fall of 2008 from Poland. Falkowski comes to Spokane with many impressive accomplishments under his belt. In the most recent national rankings, Falkowski was ranked as 18th in Poland and was previously listed 11th in the under 18 category, 16th in the under 16 list and 13th in under 14. He has won three national singles competitions, advanced to the semifinals five additional times, while also reaching the quarterfinals in six additional tournaments. Regionally, Falkowski has been ranked twice as the top player and once as second. He is a five-time regional champion, while also finishing as the runner-up three times. In total, Falkowski earned regional tournament victories six times, while placing second in four tournaments. In addition, Falkowski was the Polish primary school champion in 2003.
