Bulldogs Host Nevada, Whitman
Jan. 31, 2008
Spokane, Wash. - The Gonzaga University men's tennis team will open the home slate of the 2008 season this weekend when it hosts the University of Nevada and Whitman College in a pair of matches at the Spokane Racquet Club. The Bulldogs, who are 2-2 in the spring, will host the Wolfpack Friday at 6 p.m. before facing off against Whitman Sunday at 9 a.m. Nevada currently has a 0-1 record, while the Fighting Missionary is 2-1 during the spring season. Gonzaga is looking to rebound after a tough road trip last weekend, where the Zags dropped a pair of matches against No. 37 University of Washington and the University of Arizona. The Bulldogs opened the road trip with a 7-0 loss to the Huskies in Seattle before dropping a 7-0 decision to the Wildcats in Tucson. A third match was scheduled against Arizona State University in Tempe but was cancelled due to rain in the Phoenix area. Gonzaga is led by sophomore Zack Radetzky, who has posted a 2-2 record this spring. In the fall, Radetzky went a perfect 5-0, including capturing the Flight B Championship title at the Portland Invitational. The Spokane Racquet Club (SRC) is located at 1903 South Dearborn Road on the South Hill.
