Dec. 10, 2007

MISSION, Kan. - The Gonzaga University men's soccer team has been honored for the fifth straight year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America as one of 113 intercollegiate men's teams to receive the NSCAA Academic Award which recognizes team grade point average of 3.0 and above for the 2006-07 academic year.

Gonzaga's 3.23 team GPA ranked tied for 21st out the 113 men's teams making the list. The Bulldogs were one of just three schools on the west coast to receive the honor.

Earlier this season Bulldog senior forward George Josten earned ESPN The Magazine/College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America men's soccer first team honors for the second straight year. He was a third-team selection as a sophomore. He carries a 3.83 GPA in civil engineering.
