SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Jami Bjorklund and Michelle Elliott of the Gonzaga University women's basketball team, and men's player David Pendergraft have been named to the 2008 West Coast Conference All-Academic teams.

All three Bulldogs are repeaters from a year ago.

Bjorklund, a junior guard from Spokane, carries a 3.94 grade point average in business administration. Earlier this month she was named to the ESPN The Magazine/College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) District 8 All-Academic squad. A starter in all 28 games for the four-time WCC champion Bulldogs this season, she averages 9.8 ppg and 4.6 rpg. She's shooting 49.4 percent from the field (119-for-241). The Bulldogs top defender, she has helped the team to a 21-7 overall record and 13-1 WCC record heading into the regular-season finale Saturday at Saint Mary's College.

Elliott, a senior guard from Pasco, Wash., has a 3.44 GPA in psychology. She has started 26 of 28 games this season, averaging 9.5 ppg and 3.9 rpg. She leads the Bulldogs in 3-point field goals made and percentage this season, going 48-for-119 for 40.3 percent, and is the all-time leader in treys made with 93.

Gonzaga's women will enter the WCC Tournament next week as the No. 1 seed in search of a second straight trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Pendergraft, one of two seniors for the Bulldog men, has a 3.16 GPA in philosophy. The co-captain and forward from Brewster, Wash., will try to help the Bulldogs to an eighth straight regular-season WCC title in Saturday's 5 p.m. home showdown with Saint Mary's College. Both teams are 11-1 in WCC play, with the 24th-ranked Bulldogs 22-6 overall. One of two Bulldogs to start all 28 games, he averages 9.3 ppg and 4.5 rpg for the Bulldogs.
